Discover the people, places and ideas that have shaped the world.

Bring the story of rhythm and rebellion into your classroom this December with Hip-Hop Holiday.

Born out of inner-city deprivation in the early 1970s, hip-hop wasn’t just a new genre of music. What began as a block party became a global movement, remixing sound, style, and social change.

Follow the journey from the 12th to the 19th of December and immerse your students in the historical, political, and cultural context that honed the voice of the unheard. Participating learners can earn their Hip Hop Hero badge and win rewards and prizes in the Yakka Store.
